Revival of traditional water resources with community participation in India

In India, Traditional water resources called Tanks exist plentily for agriculture development (Tanks) and drinking water sources (Oorani). These are in dilapidated state now due to various reasons from the policy makers, community and other stake holders. This is the optimum time to take care of these traditional water resources especially in South Indian states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In order to sustain these traditional resources, there is an urgent need to revive with local community participation.

I am working in DHAN Foundation, a not-for-profit development organisation working towards bringing significant changes among rural communities with their participation adn contribution and bringing back the traditional wisdom in to prosperity in Indian States.
